Version 2.0 in progress
Version 2.0 can be expected possibly in mid-February. This is a one man project so there is a lot of work that I still need to do. By the next release, I want to have added one or two more playable characters. Knuckles and Antoine are the next two characters that will be added, although when completed, this game will have around 30 playable characters both good and evil.
Robotropolis stages are still in development and they will be in the next release.
Sonic Nebulous will now be up to two players. The player will have the option between playing on a single screen or shared screen. There will be a "team mode" and "compete mode". If competing with other another player, you will be able to harm that player by jumping on them, or rolling into them. If you are playing alone, I've added a computer player with A.I to play along with. It isn't very smart at the moment, but it's code is still in early development.
I've added voices to the characters directly from the SatAM "Sonic the Hedgehog" series that you will be able to hear in game and in menu selections. Each level will have ambience that gives the game a more life-like feel. There are still a few glitches with the sound effects, but I'm still looking into it.
Rolling dynamics has been improved. Now the player, while rolling, will increase in acceleration while going down hill, and decrease while going up hill.
In later versions, I plan on including up to four player support with a 4 screen split. I haven't decided yet on wether or not I'm going to make this game playable on a network. Now, it's just a thought.
Any comments will be appreciated. They can be left on my youtube channel or you can comment on my videos. Due to the feedback that I have received, the level design is being remapped and the stages will be larger creating a smoother game. A few character sprites are being redone as well.
Finally, I've added a few small things like an improved camera mode and few new abilities for some players. As far as the new abilities, I'm tweaking them around so much that nothing can be said for sure. I'm still playing around with different ideas. Much more is still to come..
