Version 3.0 in progress...

Version 3.0 is in development which will have many additions including the majority of characters and stages that will appear in the completed game.

Additional 2-Player modes will be added which are Tag-Team and Chaotix Mode.  Tag-Team will give the player the ability to switch between two characters while in-game giving one player priority as the other plays as support.  If playing in 1-Player mode, AI will work in that same fashion.  Chaotix Mode will play similar to "Knuckles Chaotix" as both players are strapped together with a stretchable rope.  This mode will rely on player co-operation to pass through obstacles.

Multi-player will be added with IPX and TCP/IP support.  I'm working on a couple of game types that should be playable in this release including "Emerald Chase", deathmatch, and team modes if all work as I plan.

All player and enemy sprites will be polished, particle effects will be improved, and menus will be further stylized for a better looking game.

Version 3.0 will be released possibly in late 2008, if not in 2009.

Version 2.5 in progress

Version 2.5 will be released in late March fixing a few bugs that were in version 2.0.  New features such as a weather toggle option, a game saving feature, and an added 3rd Player or 2nd assisting AI  will all be featured in version 2.5.

The saving feature will run similarly to Sonic 3's menu system.  You will be able to repeat levels previously completed with any available character.  In the final release, the majority of playable characters will have to be unlocked while playing in game missions.

Antoine will not likely be completed in this release. Cream and Honey will replace Antoine at the moment as far as character additions, but he will be added once his sprites are completed. Knuckles will now be able to use his climbing ability along with other added features that are still in the works.

The original "Knothole Village" stages will now become "The Great Forest" while a new safe zone stage preceding those stages will become the new "Knothole Village".  This will be a single stage where the player can train and test out new abilities.  Not all areas will be accessible by all characters therefore the gameplay is drastically changed depending on which character style you choose.  While in Knothole, NPCs will guide you in how to make the best of you abilities and possibly reward you with different unlockable features.

Version 2.0 in progress

Version 2.0 can be expected possibly in mid-February.  This is a one man project so there is a lot of work that I still need to do.  By the next release, I want to have added one or two more playable characters.  Knuckles and Antoine are the next two characters that will be added, although when completed, this game will have around 30 playable characters both good and evil.

Robotropolis stages are still in development and they will be in the next release.

Sonic Nebulous will now be up to two players.  The player will have the option between playing on a single screen or shared screen. There will be a "team mode" and "compete mode".  If competing with other another player, you will be able to harm that player by jumping on them, or rolling into them.  If you are playing alone, I've added a computer player with A.I to play along with.  It isn't very smart at the moment, but it's code is still in early development.

I've added voices to the characters directly from the SatAM "Sonic the Hedgehog" series that you will be able to hear in game and in menu selections.  Each level will have ambience that gives the game a more life-like feel.  There are still a few glitches with the sound effects, but I'm still looking into it.

Rolling dynamics has been improved.  Now the player, while rolling, will increase in acceleration while going down hill, and decrease while going up hill.

In later versions, I plan on including up to four player support with a 4 screen split.  I haven't decided yet on wether or not I'm going to make this game playable on a network. Now, it's just a thought.

Any comments will be appreciated.  They can be left on my youtube channel or you can comment on my videos. Due to the feedback that I have received, the level design is being remapped and the stages will be larger creating a smoother game.  A few character sprites are being redone as well.

Finally, I've added a few small things like an improved camera mode and few new abilities for some players.  As far as the new abilities, I'm tweaking them around so much that nothing can be said for sure. I'm still playing around with different ideas.  Much more is still to come..
